Use this interview invitation email template to invite a candidate to come in for an in-person interview.

Make it clear in your subject line that the candidate should open the email as soon as they can. Your interview invitation email should include:

  • The company name and job title position the applicant applied for
  • A suggested date and time, or a date range or time range of acceptable options
  • Where the interview will take place, including the address
  • Who will be interviewing the candidate
  • If anything needs to be brought to the interview
  • The expected length of the interview

Subject line: Invitation to interview at [Company Name]/Interview with [Company Name] for the open [Job Title] position

Dear [Candidate Name]/Hi [Candidate Name],

Thank you for submitting your application to [Company Name] for the [Job Title] position. We were impressed with your application and would like to invite you to come in for an interview so that we can get to know you a bit better.

At this interview you will be meeting with [Interviewer Name and Job Title] to discuss your qualifications and the job requirements. We expect the interview to last approximately [number, eg 30] minutes. You will be able to ask any questions you have about the hiring process, the job, and our company.

[Add any details about what the candidate may need to bring to the interview, such as an assignment, their ID, or a portfolio.]

Are you available to come in to our office at [address] on [Date and Time, eg Thursday June 11th at 10:45am], or between [range of dates or times, eg June 15th-17th in the mornings]?
